Sunday April 6th was the first Sunday since the foul flood waters of Katrina poured into its buildings that Franklin Ave Baptist Church was able to hold worship services in its facilities near the 9th Ward! My wife, Anne, and I were able to join this wonderful part of the family of God for a great day of rejoicing and it was great to be there! The Times Picayune featured this event with a big front page picture and article yesterday, showing its importance to the city.

In the middle of August I went to New Orleans for a meeting of Baptist Pastors. There were about 35 pastors there. Some were black, some were Hispanic, and some were white. They allowed me to share my heart of wanting to serve them by helping them to get whatever they need to redevelop their church and reach their community for Christ.
