Last week I asked you to pray for the counselor training we held on Saturday in preparation for the May 2nd outreach at the BREC park on Gardere Lane.
Thank you for praying! The training went wonderfully well!
We met at Greater Sixty-Aid Baptist Church on Gardere Lane and as you can see from the picture we packed the room with close to 40 people. The group was about 1/3 African American, 1/3 Hispanic, and 1/3 white. Three African American pastors, one Hispanic pastor, and one LSU counseling professor provided the training.
In the picture above, the tall man is Eric Sanders, the pastor of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church which is located at Gardere Lane and GSRI Rd. He has a rough “street” background and is very effective in personal evangelism with Gardere residents. He and the other trainers did a great job!
I am very excited about supporting Eric and the other Gardere pastors in their ministries and I am being deeply blessed through the friendships I am getting to develop with each of them!
Thank you again for praying! The Lord is working is so many great ways as we prepare for the May 2nd outreach!
Please continue praying that the Lord will cause the body of Christ to bear much fruit in this outreach and in continuing ministry in the lives of Gardere residents!
And please check out the Connections website (www.connectionsministry.com) for more complete information about this outreach ministry!
